Comet

First released by the USDA in 1974, Comet is a hop with a unique lineage, blending English Sunshine and native American hops to create a distinct "wild American" flavor. Initially bred to meet the rising demand for higher alpha acid hops, Comet has since become a rare find as it’s no longer in commercial production.

How does it taste?

Traditionally used as a bittering agent in American-style lagers, Comet is known for its strong grapefruit and dank resin flavors. These bold characteristics, along with its solid bittering profile, have more recently made it a popular choice for dry-hopping in ales and IPAs.
